RICHARD TANNE is a screenwriter, actor, and producer who got his start assisting Eli Roth with the research on his film HOSTEL. Shortly thereafter, Tanne and his frequent collaborator Travis Baker were hired by Roth and HOSTEL producers Boaz Yakin and Scott Spiegel to write a screenplay, prompting him to drop out of college and pursue screenwriting full-time. Over the years, Tanne has had a number of major producers attached to his scripts, including Wes Craven and Mark Whalberg, and most recently he and Baker were hired by Paramount to write an action vehicle for actress Zoe Saldana.
Acting credits include a starring role in the SyFy Channel original movie SWAMP SHARK, a guest star appearance on an episode of ABC Family's THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING, and a supporting role in the upcoming thriller KNIFEPOINT. He also just finished producing two independent feature films, MISCHIEF NIGHT, starring Malcolm McDowell, which has been picked up for worldwide distribution and is slated for release in 2013, and WORST FRIENDS, for which he also co-wrote the story and starred alongside Cody Horn and Kristen Connolly. That film has just been completed.
